Today, September 3, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian held another coordination meeting of the network of contact persons on European integration issues.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to work on ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the European integration process. Currently, one of the main tasks remains the preparation for the 23rd Ukraine-EU summit.

Mary Akopian noted that during the Summit, the parties will exchange an analysis of the achievement of the objectives of the Association Agreement with the EU in order to start the next stage — negotiations on updating and updating the Agreement itself.

“We continue to work on the development of the Associated Partnership in view of the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for December this year. The Foreign Ministry has already prepared a draft bilateral statement of the summit, which will lay out all the aspirations of our state and the aspirations of our partners - Georgia and Moldova,” the deputy minister summed up.

The participants of the meeting discussed the state of preparation for the meeting of the Commission for the Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement, scheduled for September, and updated information on the draft regulations being developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.

Mary Akopian noted the active participation of individual bodies in the implementation of the EUkraina communication campaign and stressed the importance of its further implementation.
