During August, border guards stopped 138 bribery attempts
The total amount of funds of the proposed illegal benefit is about 278,000 hryvnias.
Among the people who tried to bribe law enforcement officers were 60 citizens of Ukraine and 78 foreigners - citizens of Romania, Moldova, Hungary, India, Iraq, Pakistan and other countries.
During August, 13 cases of illegal profit in foreign and national currency amounting to more than 71,000 hryvnias were documented by the border guards of the Donetsk border detachment at the Novotroitske entry-exit checkpoint.
At the international checkpoint for road traffic “Senkivka”, located in the Chernihiv region, a traveler for 20,000 Russian rubles wanted to “resolve” the issue” of not bringing him to administrative responsibility for the committed offense.
These attempts to bribe the border guards proved unsuccessful. The servicemen categorically refused to accept the proposed funds, taking the necessary measures to document the offense and inform the employees of the National Police.
In total, since the beginning of 2021, border guards have recorded more than 930 attempts to bribe border guards, reports of which were sent to the National Police.
At the same time, during the past month, in four cases, the soldiers of the Lugansk, Mogilev-Podolsk, Mukachevo and Kramatorsk border detachments were declared suspected by the relevant authorized bodies of committing a corruption offense, the responsibility for which is provided for by articles 368 and 369 of the Criminal Code The Code of Ukraine.
