A fire danger period has begun in Ukraine. At this time, due to careless handling of fire, or deliberate arson with dry land, hectares of natural ecosystems can be destroyed, as well as animals and birds that live there. If for people this is not a valid argument (as practice shows), it is worth thinking about the safety of their own estates, as well as their life and health. After all, often fire with dry land spills over to residential buildings and outbuildings, moreover, even the piles themselves become victims of a deliberately provoked flame.

In the past day alone, 60 fires occurred in the ecosystems of the country, almost 30 hectares of dry land burned down!

Dear Ukrainians, we draw your attention: recently, the Parliament adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Strengthening Forest Protection, Fire Prevention on Forest and Water Fund Lands, Peatlands and on Land of Other Categories”, which will allow to resist fires in natural areas. The law prohibits the burning of dry vegetation in coastal protection zones: along rivers, around water bodies and on islands; along seas, sea bays and estuaries and on islands in inland sea waters.

For burning dry grass and leaves, the law provides for a scarf up to 153 thousand UAH. For arson with serious consequences for nature can be threatened with 5 years in prison!

During the fire hazard period, the following rules must be observed:

  • do not make an open fire near the forest zone, in the fields;

  • do not leave cigarette butts and matches on dry grass bedding;

  • it is strictly forbidden to burn garbage and plant residues;

  • organize fire breaks between the reeds and garden plots

  • do not organize the assembly of flammable materials near the cane;

  • clear the place designated for the hearth of dry grass, leaves, branches and do not make a fire in the immediate vicinity of houses or outbuildings;

  • do not leave unattended fires and do not allow children to make fires;

  • with strong gusts of wind, do not ignite the hearth;

  • leaving the place of rest, be sure to extinguish the fire with water or sand until the complete cessation of burning or smoldering;
