Ukrainian firefighters flew to Greece to help extinguish fires

On August 6, a combined detachment of firefighters from all over the country went to Greece to help fight large-scale forest fires.

To fulfill the task of the Head of State Volodymyr Zelensky and the decision of the Government, a hundred rescuers of the State Emergency Service with the necessary equipment took off from the airport “Kyiv”.

Addressing the personnel, the head of the State Emergency Service Nikolai Chechotkin stressed that now many countries in Europe suffer from large-scale fires.

“All of you have experience of fighting fire in the Exclusion Zone, Kharkiv region, Luhansk region. Now it is needed by our Greek colleagues. I wish you success and strength for this struggle. Whatever tasks you face, the main thing is to remember about safety. Return home safe and sound, to your relatives,” said Nikolai Chechotkin.
