Today, September 20, during an official meeting, the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, Mr. Johannes de Mol, signed an Agreement between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the privileges and immunities of communication officers posted on business Ukraine to the Europol.

The agreement aims to standardize the issue of security guarantees and protection of Ukrainian liaison officers during their tasks in Europol.

“This agreement is a very important step in our further cooperation, and therefore in the joint fight against transnational crime,” said the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko.

Therefore, the implementation of this agreement will allow police officers to be sent to Europol in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 22, 2019 No. 494 “On sending liaison officers to the European Police Office”. This will ensure enhanced cooperation between Ukraine, Europol and the Member States of the European Union in preventing and combating international crime within the framework of Ukraine's commitments in the field of European integration.
