Arsen Avakov noted that in addition, all necessary procedures for the extension of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driver's License have been completed. This will allow thousands of our compatriots not to retake the driving exam in Italy. Active negotiations with Italian companies on cooperation in infrastructure and security projects on the construction of new equipment are ongoing, subject to partial localization of its production in Ukraine and active financial lending by the State Export and Credit Agency of Italy SACE and corresponding state guarantees of the Ukrainian government.

“Thank you for visiting. It turned out to be very fruitful - we concluded an Agreement on police cooperation, we conclude the Agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses, we are talking about fire lifts for the needs of the State Emergency Service and the project for the construction of high-speed railway tracks. We are already closer to Europe,” Arsen Avakov said.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio thanked for fruitful bilateral cooperation for the development of Ukrainian-Italian relations.

“Today we signed an important agreement on police cooperation. A new intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses is underway, which will extend the validity of the previous document from 2015. Therefore, I invite you, Minister, to Rome to sign the relevant document,” he said.
