In Zhytomyr, the police launched an investigation into the fact of animal cruelty
The event took place in the regional center in the evening of June 2. According to eyewitnesses, residents of an apartment in a high-rise building threw the dog out of a balcony window on the third floor. Police have started criminal proceedings.
The animal was picked up by caring citizens and handed over to veterinarians. However, despite their efforts, the dog died.
Previously, law enforcement officers established the involvement in the commission of the offense of a 27-year-old resident of Zhytomyr, a resident of the same apartment building.
Currently, clarification of all the circumstances of the incident continues, the preliminary legal qualification of which is Art. 299 (Cruelty to animals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man is currently being contacted by law enforcement officers.
Legislation for such a crime provides for punishment in the form of a fine from 1000 to 3000 of the minimum taxable income of citizens or arrest for up to 6 months or restriction of liberty for up to 3 years.
