In the Western ATO National Guard, grenade launchers improved their skills
The Western Operational and Territorial Union of the National Guard of Ukraine held a five-day meeting with grenade calculations of military units. Where daily classes were held with the National Guards by the instructor on combat training and those with real combat experience in the area of the ATO/PLO. Maximum attention was paid to practical actions.
“The main thing that the personnel should be able to do at the end of the meeting is to conduct accurate fire individually and as part of the calculation, - says the deputy chief of the Western Territorial Department of the National Guard of Ukraine Colonel Petro Shulyak. - In addition, calculations should be guided by terrain, skillfully carried out change of fire position, establish and negotiate by means of communication.”
The guards themselves say that accurately firing from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance. It is more important to trust your fellow man, to act with him in a coordinated and clear way.
“The grenade launcher must constantly monitor the battlefield, maintaining calm and synchronicity of actions, as well as fire on ground targets, armored vehicles of the enemy and destroy enemy fire points. The grenade launcher calculation is directly the grenade launcher and his assistant. The role of the assistant is to cover me during my work and help prepare the ammunition. Therefore, the result depends on our coordinated work,” explains senior soldier Pavlo Matviychuk, a grenade thrower.
Particular attention was paid to the practical practice of providing first aid for injuries and injuries. The training ended with practical shooting, during which the grenade launchers performed certain exercises.
