The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky said that the offender, who today tried to storm the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a grenade, surrendered to the police after negotiations with his comrade. Next, the investigation will find out all the circumstances of the events.
“The offender is detained. In the future, investigative actions will be carried out with him, including a psychiatric examination. In the course of the investigation, it will become clear what prompted the veteran of the war with the Russian Federation, a sapper by specialty, to pick up a grenade and go to the Government building. But I want to emphasize that no one has the right to violate the Law, even if he is a veteran and defender of Ukraine!”, - said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Denis Monastyrsky noted that the grenade in his hands was combat. In the event of an explosion, people could be killed and injured.
The head of the law enforcement agency thanked all employees of the police, the State Emergency Service, the SBU, the State Security Service, who participated in this special operation.
“Special thanks to the comrade of the offender - Vasily, who did everything to convince his friend to lay down his arms,” he stressed.
Recall that criminal proceedings will be opened on the fact of threats with a grenade in the building of the Cabinet of Ministers.
