Khmelnytsky law enforcement officers continue to investigate the fact of mass poisoning of children in one of the educational institutions
On the fact of poisoning of children, the investigators of the Khmelnytsky Regional Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of sanitary rules and norms for the prevention of infectious diseases”. As part of the investigation, a number of examinations are appointed. Investigative actions continue.
Police received information about the first 4 cases of hospitalization of children on September 7. Since then, the number of hospitalized children and those treated at home has been increasing. According to the information of the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as of 6:00pm on September 10, 92 children from the educational institution with a diagnosis of “acute poisoning of unknown etiology” applied to various medical institutions, including family doctors.
So far, 39 parents have contacted police units. Investigators are currently investigating the health of the other children.
The educational institution has now switched to a distance learning form. The work of the food block is suspended.
The necessary tests were taken from the employees of the institution, whose work is related to the preparation and distribution of food. Also, experts took samples of food and products. The first conclusions of experts will be in a few days.
