Yesterday, December 25, at about 16:45 the crew of the special police company of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region received a report that a man fell into the river on the embankment near Ushakova Avenue and was taken by the current. The incident was also immediately reported by the rescue service of the emergency services.

Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers saw a man in the water, who had already been carried away from the shore. Policeman Roman Kaminsky tied himself to a tow rope, jumped into the cold water and swam to the victim.

Having picked up the citizen, Roman signaled to colleagues and the police began to pull them both out of the water. Near the shore, a police sergeant saw rescuers and they, with the help of special equipment, pulled the drowning man out of the river.
