A meeting of the Coordinating Council on the implementation of the state policy on drug addiction prevention was held in Kharkiv
On December 20, a meeting of the Coordinating Council on the implementation of the state policy on the prevention of drug addiction took place in Kharkiv. For a more effective fight against drug trafficking and prevention of drug addiction among young people, local authorities, law enforcement agencies and public organizations have joined together. During the meeting, data on the results of the work in the current year were presented.
During 2021 in Kharkiv region:
- More than 3 thousand drug crimes have been discovered,
- Criminally liable -1027 people.
- 130 kg of drugs and three times more psychotropic substances seized from illegal circulation
- The criminal activity of 3 organized drug groups, the participants of which sold methadone, were engaged in the distribution of PvP substance purchased on the Internet, and organized a channel for the supply of amphetamine to the Russian Federation was stopped.
“Joint efforts produce real results. In the past few months, it is not the first time I have been in Kharkov. For me, it is very important how the authorities in this region build an integrated approach to solving the problem of addiction prevention in children and adolescents. I hope that from next year we will launch planned special projects to help those who want to get rid of bad habits and change their lives!”, - said the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anna Mishchenko.
Recall that in 2022 in Kharkiv region it is planned to launch a pilot project “Responsibility. Children”. Its goal is to teach adults to identify the problems and addictions of children in the early stages. The project should work in almost a thousand schools in the region.
