A project on the prevention of addictions in schoolchildren was presented in Kharkiv
The Kharkiv City Council presented the National Project on the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Deviant Behavior among Minors “Responsibility. Children”
The event was attended by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anna Mishchenko, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov, representatives of law enforcement agencies, deputy mayors, directors of relevant departments and the public.
Anna Mishchenko informed that the implementation of this project is planned in February in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region, and in the fall of next year it will spread throughout Ukraine.
“The project starts in hundreds of schools in Kharkiv region. Our goal is to educate all adults, teachers and doctors related to the child, to identify problems of drug and alcohol dependence at the start. Teachers should have basic psychological screening to identify these threatening manifestations for the child and report it to juvenile police officers, and they, in turn, will carry out preventive work with parents,” said Anna Mishchenko.
Igor Terekhov noted that the problem of drug and alcohol addiction is relevant for Kharkiv, so the position of the city authorities in the issue of combating the distribution and use of drugs, as well as the work of illegal alcohol outlets remains unchanged.
“This project is very timely. We need to systematically address this problem. After all, the health and life of people that we are obliged to preserve depends on how effective we will be. Therefore, I urge everyone to consolidate around the fight against drugs, around the closure of so-called “liquors”. With joint efforts, we will be able to restore order in the city,” the Kharkiv mayor said.
