In Kharkiv, the police detained a group of serial thieves who “specialized” in office premises
The attackers stole funds, jewelry and even business documentation.
Yesterday, July 19, operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Kharkiv region, together with investigators of Police Department No. 1 of Kharkiv Police Department No. 3, exposed three members of the organized crime group after another theft.
It was established that the inhabitants of Kharkov carefully prepared for the crime. They chose office spaces where precious things can be located. To do this, the scope of activities of enterprises was studied and the premises were monitored for some time. Having made sure of unhindered access, by breaking the locks, they penetrated inside.
During the investigative and operational measures, the police received evidence of the involvement of a group of persons in the commission of five cases of thefts in different districts of Kharkiv. Two members of the criminal group were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying all defendants of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the choice of preventive measures is resolved.
Simultaneously with the arrest, the operatives and investigators conducted urgent searches of the premises of the intruders. As a result, they seized cash, jewelry, other property totaling more than UAH 2 million, as well as documents stolen from offices.
Currently, a full circle of persons involved in illegal activities is established. The sanction of the incriminated article provides for punishment - imprisonment for a period of three to six years. Procedural management in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Novobavarsk District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kharkiv.
