Graduation of community police officers took place at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs
Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs graduated community police officers. 129 police officers who have been trained according to international standards will perform their duties in territorial communities of different regions of our country.
The event was attended by Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police General of the Third Rank Valery Sokurenko, Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine Colonel Ihor Babych, Head of Department for Interaction with Communities of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine Captain Maya Breslavskaya police, representatives of the management staff of the University of Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine, vice-rectors of the university, university personnel, students of courses.
During the training, the students of the courses improved their knowledge of general legal disciplines, improved their driving skills, studied pre-medical, tactical and fire training. The courses were held with the support of the ISITAP (International Criminal Investigation Training Program of the US Department of Justice).
After the presentation of certificates to the students of the courses, the rector of the university, Valery Sokurenko, addressed the rector of the university, who congratulated on the completion of their studies and emphasized that the knowledge and skills that the trainees received in 2.5 months will be useful during the service. “You must meet the expectations and trust of the territorial communities entrusted to you,” the rector said. “It is up to you to show perseverance in your service, adequately fulfill the duties assigned to you and be the best of the best. You received diplomas on the eve of the New Year holidays. I wish to ensure order and public safety in your communities at a high level. Treat citizens with respect and respect, be genuine and responsible. Peace and harmony to you.”
The Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Babych congratulated the graduates of the courses, noting that this is the ninth edition of the community police officers. He thanked the management of the university, personally the rector for the high-quality training of specialists of the new formation, colleagues from ISITAR, together with whom work is being carried out on curricula and ensuring the educational process. “Communities have already done a lot to organize your work,” the head of the Department of Preventive Activities emphasized, addressing the graduates. “Police stations have been built and repaired for you, equipped with computer equipment and furniture. The National Police, together with the territorial communities, have taken all measures to ensure that you have decent working conditions. I urge you to take responsibility for your position and profession! “Community Police Officer” is no longer a project, it is the philosophy and concept of the work of the National Police in each territorial community. The confidence of the population in the structure of the law enforcement system of the state and the National Police in particular depends on you. Do not shy away from people! Communicate with everyone! You will hear them — you will be heard by them. Indeed, it is not easy to work alone, to make important decisions, but your support and support will be a community if you prove to each of its inhabitants that they really deserve to live and work in their community. I am sure you will succeed!”
At the end of the event, the participants inspected the cars that police receive to service their territorial communities.
