In Vinnytsia, the police exposed the criminal group of arms dealers
Employees of the Criminal Police of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region and the Vinnytsia District Police Department together with the investigators liquidated the channel of arms sales, in particular, to the criminal. For almost half a year, the police documented the criminal actions of the group, which numbered more than a dozen people. During the multi-stage operation, the police recorded a number of facts of the sale of firearms. During the authorized searches, 33 weapons units and a large amount of ammunition were seized. The procedural management of the investigation is carried out by the Vinnytsia District Prosecutor's Office.
According to the head of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Ivan Ishchenko, during the investigation, numerous sources of weapons were established by members of the group, both new and outdated models, which were processed and improved. The processing of weapons was carried out in the utility rooms and garages of the defendants with the help of specialized equipment and special machines.
Members of the group established the sale of firearms through personal connections, in particular, in criminal circles.
On June 23, another fact of sale by one of the attackers of an automatic weapon and a pistol was documented, the money was seized.
During the authorized searches of the places of residence of the defendants and in the ancillary premises where illegal production was carried out, the police found 33 weapons, in particular, 9 pistols, 5 automatic weapons, 4 carbines, 4 explosive packages, more than 7 thousand rounds various calibers, grenades and other ammunition, as well as a large number of spare parts and elements for small arms. Removed means of damage are sent for examination.
The two suspects were detained on a procedural basis and placed in a temporary detention facility.
During the special operation to block the members of the group, special equipment of the military unit 3008 of the National Guard of Ukraine was involved.
Criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal manufacture, processing or repair of firearms or counterfeiting, illegal removal or alteration of their marking, or illegal manufacture of military supplies, explosives or explosive devices). Such offenses are provided for up to seven years in prison.
