Educational and methodological meetings were held in the Eastern ATO of the National Guard
Two-day training and methodological meetings with deputy commanders of military units for armaments — heads of technical units, heads of technical support services of military units of the Eastern Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine took place on the basis of military unit 3057. Topical topics discussed by the officers during the event concerned the coordination in the work of technical services of military units, the organization of interaction at all levels in the performance of service-combat tasks.
As part of the event, officers visited the “Izyum Instrument Building Plant”. The company's specialists conducted a tour of production for the guards and told in detail about the development, modernization, repair and production of military optical devices. It is worth noting that this is the only enterprise in Ukraine that produces optical glass, in particular, optical devices for armored vehicles. In 2011, as a result of restructuring, the plant was transferred to the management of “Ukroboronprom”, and today the plant's products are exported.
The next location for the meeting was a military training ground near Mariupol, where large-scale military exercises were held to exchange experience of the use of tank units of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine. The guards were represented by a tank unit of a separate special purpose detachment “Azov” of military unit 3057. After the tank exercises, each of the participants of the meeting had the opportunity to try themselves as a mechanic and a tank driver.
In addition, the guards visited a military shooting range, where representatives of the Azov OZSP demonstrated to the participants of the meeting the latest models of weapons that are in service in the National Guard of Ukraine. On the example of the repair base of a separate special purpose detachment “Azov”, the officers analyzed the organization of maintenance and repair of vehicles, the arrangement of the site of the head of the checkpoint, the procedure for storing weapons in the gas station, etc.
“This year's educational and methodological meetings were extremely busy. We visited more locations than usual, we were able to take the best experience of Ukrainian defense enterprises, to establish closer ties with them. We observed the exercises, where the Guard units and the Armed Forces of Ukraine participated. In addition, we discussed problematic issues and ways to solve them, representatives of each military unit were assigned priority tasks in the direction. Such communication is extremely important for maintaining the quality of performance of service and combat tasks,” said Colonel Yuriy Tarasov, the deputy chief of the Eastern Territorial Directorate for Armaments, the head of the technical department, summarizing the results of the meeting.
Finally, the participants of the meeting visited the museum of retro cars “Phaeton” in Zaporozhye.
