On holidays, the police will strengthen preventive measures
Proper organization of traffic, control over the maintenance of the road network, provision of support for organized groups of children and assistance to drivers in case of worsening weather conditions are the issues that the head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko drew attention to during the video selection meeting.
The head of the department stressed that during the past day, due to the deterioration of weather conditions, traffic for the passage of heavy vehicles on sections of highways of Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions was limited.
“Difficult weather conditions are expected in the future. In particular, significant precipitation in the form of snow, wet snow and rain, ice on the roads. Such weather conditions can cause complications of transport, so we must react quickly and organize the work properly,” said Igor Klymenko.
Therefore, the head of the department emphasized proper cooperation with local governments, road and communal organizations and units of the State Emergency Service to provide necessary assistance to road users.
The head of the National Police paid special attention to the detection and prevention of the facts of driving vehicles by intoxicated drivers, and also emphasized the provision of supervision of organized groups of children.
“Therefore, on holidays, we must strictly monitor the safety of the road, because all preventive measures are aimed at preventing traffic accidents and preventing injuries and deaths of people,” Ihor Klymenko summed up.
