In Slavyansk, police detained an attacker who killed a man with a firearm
On May 8, the body of a man with a gunshot wound was found in one of the garages. It was established that a local resident previously convicted of separatism and participation in illegal armed formations was involved in the murder. Donetsk police officers worked on the discovery of the brazen crime under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
The body of the murdered 56-year-old man was discovered by neighbors in a garage located in the Tsilynny neighborhood of Slavyansk.
Police carried out investigative actions and identified the person involved in the murder.
He turned out to be a 35-year-old previously convicted under Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine a resident of Slavyansk.
During the search at the place of residence of the defendant, the police seized a pistol — a weapon of crime, a Kalashnikov assault rifle and ammunition for them. It was established that the defendant had been hiding weapons since his time in the ranks of the illegal armed formations of the DPR.
The suspect was chosen by the court for a preventive measure - detention.
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 115 (Murder) and Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for from 7 to 15 years in prison.
