Within the framework of the implementation of innovative projects, the police of Kirovograd region launched the second “green room”
Working with minors using this technique, aimed at minimizing and preventing re-traumatization of the child who has suffered or witnessed the crime. The project is implemented in territorial units at the initiative of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine.
The opening of the security room took place today, November 2, in Kropyvnytskyi. The event was attended by the head of the police of the region Roman Koziakov, the chairman of the regional council Sergey Shulha, the leadership of the preventive activities department and the department of juvenile prevention of the GUNP, the education department of the city council, representatives of the regional state administration, the regional prosecutor's office, psychologists of educational institutions and police in Kropyvnia District Administration.
“By using the possibilities of the “green room”, we are deepening the implementation of international standards for the observance and protection of children's rights in police activities. Communication with minors during investigative and procedural actions will take place using child-friendly techniques, in a cozy room with the necessary technical equipment in the presence of appropriate specialists. It is planned to involve certified specialists of psychologists in this work,” said the head of the police of the region Roman Koziakov.
Implementation of the innovative project in Kropyvnytskyi became possible with the assistance of local self-government bodies, in particular, funds for repairs and equipment were allocated by the regional council. The arrangement of the security room took about three weeks.
Chairman of the Regional Council Serhiy Shulha, in turn, stressed the importance of supporting projects related to the implementation of best practices of European countries, especially in matters of protecting the interests of children.
Recall that in September the first “green room” for working with minors was opened in the Alexandria district police department.
