A police station opened in the frontline suburb of Mariupol
Today, December 29, as part of the “Community Police Officer” project, a modern police office was opened in the village of Sartana. Four officers take care of the security of 18,000 residents of the Sartanian Military-Civil Administration. Each law enforcement officer received a service car.
The composition of the Sartanska OCA includes 18 settlements, of which four are located directly on the line of contact. For two months now, community police officers have been on duty here. Law enforcement officers have delved into the problems of the community, helped to solve a number of crimes, and are in touch with residents around the clock.
From today, they will receive citizens in the new police station. This is the 16th police office opened within the framework of the “Community Police Officer” project in Donetsk region.
In addition, the “sheriffs” received four cars “Renault Duster”, “Mitsubishi”, equipped with everything necessary for providing home medical and other care, there are even chainsaws. The modern equipment of the police is the result of the joint efforts of the National Police and the community.
“The police are strengthening their capacity for rapid response and ensuring a constant presence in all settlements. From now on, the community will be safer. Police officers are here to protect and help, meet the needs of the community. At any moment they will be able to come to the call and provide all the necessary assistance,” said Yaroslav Mezhennyi, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region.
Officers will take sole care of the life of their community and report to its residents who have already felt supported by the police.
“With the beginning of the work of community police officers, the level of security has increased by several points. The synergy of local self-government bodies and the police is the basis of a safe environment,” said Oleksandr Kurkchi, chairman of the Sartanska VCA.
