On New Year's Eve, the state border was heavily guarded by 3,5 thousand border guards
During the New Year's Eve, border guards registered 86.4 thousand citizens to enter and leave Ukraine. In particular, 49.3 thousand people followed to our state, and from Ukraine - 37.1 thousand people. Also, 16.1 thousand vehicles were registered during the day.
The border of the state was heavily guarded by about 3.5 thousand border guards.
Particular attention is paid to the safety of passengers on the state border. Measures are being taken to prevent the movement of weapons, ammunition and instruments of terrorism, as well as the crossing of the border by illegal elements and potential illegal migrants.
During the border control on New Year's Eve, 137 people were refused entry, including 26 potential illegal migrants, 22 invalid documents were found. Also, 9 people were detained for attempting to illegally cross the state border.
Border outfits serving at checkpoints and outside checkpoints are reinforced by dog kennels with service dogs, for long-term remote carrying the border guard service is provided with everything necessary.
Patrols with enhanced security measures will continue in the future.
