The Ministry of Internal Affairs held an expert meeting “Hybrid threats: definition, understanding, counteraction in the context of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (national experience and regional approach)”
The event was organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine today, April 21, together with the Coordination Bureau of Priority Direction No. 11 of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, Sport and Integration of Bavaria.
This meeting is the first element of the launch of cooperation between the countries participating in the EU Strategy within the framework of the implementation of the updated Strategy Action Plan and became a platform for the exchange of experience and opinions between security sector experts of 8 countries.
During the event, the results of a study conducted by the working group at the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the analysis and classification of threats were presented. The participants of the discussion agreed that hybrid threats today are a serious challenge for modern security infrastructure.
Among the speakers were representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Council, the National Institute for Strategic Studies, the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Austria, Germany, in particular Bavaria, as well as a guest speaker from the European Center experience in countering hybrid threats located in Finland.
