Meeting with representatives of the Armed Forces of the United States and Canada took place at the International Center of the National Guard

Representatives of the new rotation of the Joint Multinational Training Group of the Armed Forces of the United States Armed Forces (JMTG-U) and the Advisory Group on the Development of Training Centers (TCAT) visited the international training center of the NGU, located in the village of Staré in Kyiv region. They were accompanied by Major Gary Kwosh, a representative of the Military Training and Education Advisers Group (DEAG) of the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by Captain Hugh Purdon, the officer for interaction with the National Guard of Operation “UNIFIER” of the Armed Forces of Canada. The visit by US representatives was conducted in order to familiarize themselves with the International Center, its capabilities, as well as to continue the cooperation of the National Guard of Ukraine with the training group of the US Armed Forces in Ukraine, to develop the collective training of the units of the NGU and to develop the capacity of the International Center to conduct multinational international exercises.

It is worth mentioning that the Advisory Group on the Development of Training Centers (TCAT), which cooperates with the Directorate of Combat Training of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provides advisory assistance to the Rapid Trident International Exercise Planning Group, and the previous composition of this group also met with representatives of the National Guard.

During the meeting, American colleagues were introduced to the functions and tasks of the National Guard, its role and place in the security and defense sectors of the country, and presented and informed about the state and prospects of the development of the International Center and its capacity for training units.

It is appropriate to note that the meeting of the guards with international partners preceded the meeting of the Multinational Joint Coordination Committee on Military Cooperation, which took place on the same day with the participation of representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine.
