From May 31 to June 4, at the International Interdepartmental Multidisciplinary Training Center of NGU, in the village of Stare, Kyiv region, with the support of the NATO Support and Supply Agency (NSPA), a training “Action at the scene after the use of an improvised explosive device” was held. The exercises took place within the framework of the NATO Trust Fund for the Defamation of Explosive Objects and the Countering of Improvised Explosive Devices. Currently, there is an urgent need to counter IEDs, especially in eastern Ukraine, during the Joint

Forces operation.
Such training has already been organized for representatives of the National Police, and currently training takes place in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking into account the specifics of their functions. The training was conducted by NATO instructors from the UK, who have extensive experience in this field.

During the theoretical exercises, the guards were described in detail how to behave at the scene after the use of improvised explosive devices and how to identify which substance, which switch was used and how this could be used to determine when it was installed and how it was operated.

“During the course, we had the opportunity to look at action algorithms and learn how to work according to NATO standards. The instructors who conducted this training worked directly in the fire contact zone. They returned alive, retained their personnel and accomplished their task. For us, their experience is invaluable,” the deputy commander of the engineering sapper company of the military unit 3057, with the nickname Stochid, shared his impressions. “The “threat assessment” protocol was especially important, because it allows you to quickly make complex decisions in infantry combat during the execution of engineering and sapper tasks,” he added. In
addition to theoretical ones, practical classes were also held at the all-military training ground of the International Center, where the Guard sappers worked in practice. algorithms of actions after the use of homemade explosive devices.
