Sea Breeze 2021 International Exercise Completed Marine Component Harmonization Phase
The multinational tactical groups worked out the first block of training elements during the sea voyage. Cargo transfer, towing of an emergency vessel and landing of survey teams, formation of ship orders, sailing in service, signal production and control of civil navigation are the main list of exercises practiced before the second part of the naval component - free play.
Also, just at the exit from the base point, the element of repelling the attack of high-speed small boats was worked out, and in the corresponding training ground — artillery fire on surface and air targets.
Traditionally, in international tactical groups, the leadership of the various training elements is distributed among the participants alternately. For the second time in such large-scale maneuvers, the flagship of the Naval Guard “Grigory Kuropyatnikov”, joining a tactical group with powerful representatives of the Navy of NATO countries - the destroyer of the US Navy “Ross”, the patrol ship of the Royal Navy of Great Britain OPV “Trent”, the Romanian Navy corvette “Contra-Amiral Horia Macellariu”, the Bulgarian Navy corvette “Bodra” — guided strategic episodes such as firing, repelling attacks on ships, as well as typical border elements — control of civilian shipping, signaling production.
The Naval Guard ship “Podillya” in a tactical group with the ships of the Republic of Georgia and the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine performed a similar list of exercises, but in other areas of the Black Sea.
In parallel on the Danube, the planned elements are being worked out. Given the significant strategic importance of the region's largest shipping river and the permanent base of maritime border guards there, their role in ensuring initial action and readiness, both for operational counteraction by their own forces and for providing support to other military formations, is extremely important.
