In Nikolaev operatives and special officers of KORD detained a group of apartment thieves from Odessa region
On April 19, law enforcement officers conducted a special operation to detain apartment dwellers who for several months committed theft in the territory of Nikolaev. The thieves were apprehended immediately after committing a series of burglaries with penetration into the dwelling.
On April 19, Nikolaev operatives of Criminal Investigation Department, investigators of the Nikolaev district police department of the GUNP in the Nikolaev area under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office with the force support of special officers of the KORD conducted a special operation to detain apartment owners who for several months committed thefts in the territory of Nikolaev.
The thieves were apprehended immediately after committing a series of burglaries with penetration into the dwelling.
Since the beginning of the year, a number of such crimes have been committed on the territory of Nikolaev. In the course of operational and search activities, the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department found that the three attackers are residents of the Odessa region aged between 25 and 36 years. Men moved in cars with foreign registration, picked up apartments located on the first and second floors of apartment buildings, after which with the help of special means they broke metal grilles on the windows, penetrated into the dwellings of citizens, where they took money, jewelry, telephones and other more valuable property.
During the search of the suspects' car, law enforcement officers seized phones, cash, jewelry and other stolen property, as well as tools of criminal activity.
All defendants were taken to the police department, where investigators detained them in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
As the police found out, the youngest of the criminals at the time of arrest was wanted by the Belgorod-Dnestrov police department of the Odessa region for causing grievous bodily harm. The other two were also prosecuted.
Currently, investigations of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art are ongoing. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which the sanction of the article provides for a sentence of up to six years in prison.
The issue of notifying intruders of suspicion and choosing precautions is resolved.
Currently, the defendants are being checked for involvement in at least twenty apartment thefts committed, as well as similar crimes in the territory of neighboring areas.
