In Mariupol, Volodymyr Zelensky was presented with the Concept of Development of Marine Protection of the State Border Guard Service
On October 14, during the visit Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Concept of Development of Maritime Protection of the State Border Service of Ukraine and talked about plans for upgrading ship and boat stock, planned international projects for infrastructure development.
The President also congratulated Ukrainian servicemen on the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine and presented them with state awards.
“Now I am here in the east of Ukraine, in the city of Mariupol. In its history, as in the history of many cities of our Ukrainian Donbas, there are at least three very important dates: September 10, 1943, when Mariupol was liberated by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. June 13, 2014, when the city was liberated by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And on October 14 every year, when grandfathers, grandchildren, and in general hundreds of thousands of the best sons and daughters of our native Motherland celebrate a professional holiday — the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelensky assured that the Ukrainian state will protect the people who defend it. “On land, in the water, in the air, in cyberspace. For the sake of us with you, for the sake of the future. For the sake of peace. For the sake of future peace,” the President stressed.
