In Lviv, police detained a group of intruders on suspicion of kidnapping and extortion

A report of the abduction of a person was received by the police on October 14 around 20.30. According to the applicant, a resident of Chervonograd, the attackers kidnapped his 19-year-old daughter in Lviv, kept her in an unknown place and demanded two million euros for the girl's release. The kidnappers also threatened the father that he would never see his daughter again unless he handed them the specified amount.

Before the discovery of the crime, employees of all services and units of the police of the Lviv region were involved, headed by the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, police general of the third rank Oleksandr Shlyakhovsky.

“Criminal investigation officers together with investigators of the Special Crimes Investigation Department (detectives) established the place where the perpetrators kept their victim - in the apartment of one of the houses on Horodotska Street in Lviv. After that, the police released the girl and detained the kidnappers,” Oleksandr Shlyakhovsky reported.

The perpetrators, three residents of Chervonograd, are detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose preventive measures for them.

The freed girl is alive and unharmed - a psychologist works with her.

According to this fact, the investigators of the Lviv region police, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 146 (Illegal Imprisonment or Abduction of a Person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 2 of Article 189 (Requisition) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided for by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for up to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
