Open karate championship was held in Lutsk for the Day of the Border Guard
The open championship of the city “Western Border” in Kyokushinkai karate was held yesterday on the basis of the Volyn Regional Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training named after the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
The competition was timed to the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine, which the border guards will celebrate on April 30.
More than 300 young karatists between the ages of 6 and 15 competed for the title of the best.
Organizer of the tournament, Chief Judge, coach of the Sports Committee of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Head of the children's sports club “KORDON”, master of sports of Ukraine in kyokushinka karate Bohdan Mandrykin noted that athletes engaged in this style of karate are constantly improving their physical and moral qualities, which are so necessary for those who defend our Motherland.
Stamina, fighting spirit and the desire to win during training are improved by the pupils of the sports club “KORDON”. More than 60% of whose pets are children of the border guards of the Lutsk detachment.
“I am sure that all of you are future defenders who are ready to stand up for the defense of our state at any time. I wish everyone success, victory and never give up, regardless of the result, always move forward to their sporting heights,” said Bohdan Mandrykin.
During the speech, the head of the Lutsk border detachment Oleg Vovk addressed the young karatists: “From the staff of the border detachment and myself personally, I congratulate the participants of the championship, I wish victories. Border guards are always the first with honor — that's our motto. So I want you to always be the first. Overcome your opponents, do not forgive your enemies. But our greatest struggle is the struggle over ourselves, over our weaknesses, over our fears. Overcome yourself and victory will be yours.”
The mayor of Lutsk Igor Polishchuk addressed the athletes with a congratulatory word. Wished the participants of light fights and victories and other guests of the competition.
Honored Artists of Ukraine Adam Gorbatyuk and Viktor Kucharyk sang for the participants of the competition to raise the fighting spirit before the fights.
A festive and at the same time exciting atmosphere reigned in the hall. Athletes on tatami showed all their skills and abilities acquired during strenuous and difficult training.
The most pleasant of course was the moment of awarding the winners. They received trophies and medals. Beginners were not left without a reward. And the girls, of whom, by the way, there were a lot of participants, also received gifts.
This day, the participants at the championship lived as one friendly sports family. After all, the power of the state in the strength and health of the nation! Glory to Ukraine!
