In Kryvyi Rih, the police exposed a cryptocurrency mining farm
To minimize their own costs during mining, attackers made illegal connections to power grids, including utilities.
On May 25, employees of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department conducted an authorized search and discovered a cryptocurrency mining farm operating in one of the basements in the Central City District of the city.
During a search of the premises, the police discovered 7 mining farms with 55 graphics cards and motherboards, an administrator's laptop and 12 power supplies with which the generation was carried out.
Investigative measures were carried out in the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are carrying out measures aimed at identifying persons involved in the organization of criminal activities.
