A man who falsely married foreigners with Ukrainians was detained in Kyiv
With the help of established contacts with officials of civil registration bodies, the husband organized the registration of fictitious marriages of foreigners with citizens of Ukraine in order to transfer them to European countries. The cost of such a service was 3500 US dollars.

According to the acting head of the sector of the department of combating crimes related to trafficking in human beings of the Kiev police Alexey Gavrilyuk, law enforcement officers established that a 27-year-old citizen of another state by forging documents provided foreigners with assistance in obtaining certificates and engaged in transportation bringing them to European countries:
“The offender organized a channel of illegal transportation of foreigners across the state border of Ukraine, disguising it as the conclusion of fictitious marriages with Ukrainians, using corrupt connections with officials of civil status registration bodies in the Kiev region. The cost of such a “marriage” was about 3500 US dollars. In addition, in return, the girl received $1,000 for the status of “wife”.
The attacker and his acquaintance, a 35-year-old resident of the Kiev region, were looking for Ukrainian citizens among their circle of friends. Among them are those who have the marital status of unmarried and are in a difficult financial situation. And the girls agreed to arrange fictitious marriages with unknown foreigners.
“During the first stage of the operational procurement for the registration of a fictitious marriage of a foreigner with a citizen of Ukraine, 10,000 hryvnia was transferred to the offender. During the second stage, he was transferred 52,000 hryvnias and detained at the scene of the crime in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,” the law enforcement official added.
As part of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers conducted five searches in the city. Kyiv and Kyiv region: at the place of residence of the defendants and in their cars. Police seized physical evidence of their criminal activities. This is money, mobile phones, rough records, flash drives, computer equipment, documents of foreigners, marriage certificates.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the investigators of the Kiev police announced the offender on suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. During the investigation, the defendant will be in custody. He faces imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years with confiscation of property.
