In Kiev, law enforcement officers detained a man for a false report about the demolition of a cinema
While specialized services were working and inspecting the building, police evacuated staff and visitors to the facility. After checking, no dangerous objects or substances were found, but not far from the scene, law enforcement officers detained the offender. For his actions, he faces from two to six years in prison.
An employee of the cinema turned to the special line 102 of the capital police with a statement that he received from an unknown person a message about the demolition of the institution on Konstantinovskaya Street. At the specified address, the specialized services, the investigative and operational team and the explosives equipment immediately left. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers evacuated staff and visitors to the institution. Explosives carefully inspected the building and the area around it, but did not find any dangerous objects or substances.
During the search operations near the scene, law enforcement officers found and detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine of a man who made a false report. He turned out to be a 50-year-old local resident who had not previously been prosecuted.
The Investigative Department of the Podolsk Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 259 (Knowingly false report of a threat to the safety of citizens, destruction or damage to property objects) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for two to six years in prison. In the near future, the defendant will be notified of the suspicion and the court will choose a preventive measure.
