In Kyiv, police detained a criminal group for arson and destruction of citizens' property
The victims of the attackers were citizens of Kyiv, who for one reason or another became witnesses of certain events and participants in conflicts with the organizer of the group. In addition, the defendants “specialized” in the execution of crimes on order.
For a long time, residents of houses in Obolonsky district became victims of unknown persons. They soldered balconies and doors, painted the doors with various offensive inscriptions, smashed glass and pierced the wheels of cars, smashed windows in the dwellings. Usually all events took place at night. With the activities carried out, the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the city of Kiev National Police together with law enforcement colleagues established the organizer, the participants of the group, as well as the motives for committing crimes.
As it turned out, for the purpose of their own enrichment and revenge, the activities of the group were organized by a resident of the same area, previously convicted of committing various crimes. He attracted two Kiev citizens to the accomplices. The roles were clearly distributed among all: the organizer gave instructions to the participants, directed their training, provided financing for the group, “helpers” - directly participated in the crimes themselves and searched for individuals to carry them out.
People who, for one reason or another, witnessed certain events and did not share the position of the organizer, thereby entering into conflicts with them, suffered from the actions of intruders. In order to take revenge and educate the opponents, on the instructions of the leader of the criminal group, its participants set fire to and damage the property of citizens.
In addition, for monetary remuneration, he received and ensured the execution of orders from persons to solve their domestic problems. Currently, the involvement of intruders in 15 cases of damage to someone else's property has been established.
Yesterday, November 15, police officers, prosecutors of the Obolonsk District Prosecutor's Office of the city. Kyiv, with the strong support of the special unit of the SDR, detained the organizer and participants of the criminal group. According to the results of searches of their places of residence and in vehicles, things and objects indicating criminal activity were seized. Weapons, crossbows, telescopic and rubber sticks, nunchucks, cassettes, radios, gas canisters, a “code grabber” were seized. In addition, 56 mobile phones, “rough” records, more than two dozen starter packs.
On the basis of the evidence received, the leader of the group was informed of the suspicion of organizing an unfinished attempt to intentionally damage someone else's property, committed by arson, according to a preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons (part 3 of article 15, part 3 of article 27, part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), his accomplice - according to part 3 of article 15, part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the court is considering petitions for the selection of preventive measures for suspects. After carrying out a full range of investigative and operational actions, the issue of reporting suspicion to other members of the group and bringing everyone to account will be resolved. For the offense, he may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to ten years.
