In Kiev, police detained a group of apartment thieves
Convinced of the absence of the owners, the intruders broke into the premises and stole their personal belongings. However, it was not possible to escape with the kidnapped accomplices, since law enforcement officers were already waiting for them. For his actions, the detainee faces up to six years in prison.
During the implementation of operational information, employees of the Criminal Police Department of the Pechersk Police Department exposed five foreigners in an apartment theft on Yevhen Konovalets Street. The operatives detained the accomplices immediately after the crime, when they tried to escape with the stolen property.
Law enforcement officers found that the men, having made sure that the owners were not at home, three of them stayed on the street to observe the surrounding situation, and two went to the apartment. With the help of tools, they broke the lock of the front door and penetrated the premises, from where they stole the personal belongings of the owners.
During the superficial inspection, the police seized money in foreign and state currency, gold and silver jewelry, perfumes, etc., from accomplices. In addition, the police seized the tools of the crime, namely tools and gloves. The defendants were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They are natives of another country, 1972 - 1990 years of birth.
According to this fact, the investigative department of the Pechersk police department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the sanction of which provides for up to six years in prison. Two detainees have been informed of suspicion of committing a crime, and soon the court will choose preventive measures for them.
In relation to the other defendants, the question of their legal status is being resolved. In addition, police officers check the involvement of intruders in the commission of similar offenses on the territory of the capital.
