“In Kyiv, police detained a 16-year-old young man on suspicion of committing a triple murder,” - Andriy Kryshchenko
The attacker inflicted numerous knife wounds on his own parents and 8-year-old brother, from which the latter died at the scene. Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
Yesterday, a local resident contacted the capital police with a report that for about three days her son, who lives with his wife and children in an apartment on Revutsky Street, has not been able to communicate. The investigative and operational team of the territorial police department left to the specified address to establish all the circumstances.
According to the Chief of Police of Kyiv Andriy Kryshchenko, the law enforcement officers spoke with the applicant and her neighbors at the scene, after which they decided to involve the employees of the State Emergency Service for the emergency opening of the door:
“Once inside the apartment, we found the bodies of the owners of the property and their young son with traces of violent death. All three are local residents of 1971, 1979 and 2012 births. After carrying out a complex of operational-search measures, we established that the 16-year-old eldest son of the victims was involved in the commission of the serious crime. The entire staff of the Darnitsky Police Department was raised to search for the intruder by alarm. The teenager was detained during the training of the district in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, he had a knife with him, which was seized and sent for the appropriate examination.”
It turned out that the suspect, during another conflict with his parents, first inflicted fatal wounds on his father and mother with a knife, and then also killed his younger brother. After the crime, the attacker stayed in the apartment next to the dead for several days, and when his parents began to search for relatives, he managed to escape.
“According to this fact, criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 115 (Premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been opened. In the near future, the defendant will be informed of the suspicion and the court will choose a preventive measure for him. The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment,” the head of the capital's chapter added.
