Heroes of Ukraine Major General Serhiy Kulchytskyi was born on this day

On December 17, 1963 Serhiy Kulchitsky was born in the German town of Weimar. A man who for many militaries has become a symbol of resilience, wisdom and steadfastness. A military man who was followed without hesitation by trusted people and whose professionalism no one could afford to doubt.

In Lviv, at the Lychakiv cemetery, where the general is buried, gathered those who knew him, who served with him. She prayed together with everyone for the husband and wife of the general, Nadezhda Kulchytska. A woman still does not believe that her husband is not around.

Major General Serhiy Kulchitsky died at the very beginning of the armed aggression in the east of the country, on May 29, 2014. The helicopter, in which the general and the personnel were flying, was shot from a forest strip near Mount Karachun in Donetsk region. During the fall of the helicopter, the fuel tanks exploded.

Together with the general, 12 more soldiers died. Six servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine and six special officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Only the crew navigator, Alexander Makeenko, survived. The general was buried on May 31 in Lviv.

On June 20, 2014, Major General Serhiy Kulchitsky was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star. Posthumously Rest in
