In Boryspil, border guards found a passenger with diamonds worth 1 million hryvnias
A foreigner moved precious stones in violation of Ukrainian legislation, advance information about the illegal movement of diamonds was obtained by the operatives of the Kiev checkpoint. Yesterday, during the registration of the flight “Tel Aviv - Kiev”, border guards together with customs officers conducted an inspection of luggage and cargo at the capital's airport during the registration of the flight “Tel Aviv - Kiev” luggage of one of the passengers of the flight.
Subsequently, in various places in the hand luggage of a citizen of Israel born in 1962, law enforcement officers found a white gold bracelet and a ring decorated with diamonds, as well as two yellow diamonds with “GIA” certificates with a total weight of 2.21 carats.
According to preliminary estimates, the amount of precious stones is about 1 000 000 UAH.
According to the results of the review, a protocol was drawn up on violation of customs rules under Article 471 of the MKU.
