The touring season is 2021. When preparing abroad — do not forget about the proper documents for children
The State Border Service of Ukraine predicts a seasonal increase in passenger traffic at the border due to the tourist season. The
countries of the most popular tourist destinations among Ukrainians are gradually loosening quarantine restrictions, so citizens find opportunities to travel abroad.
We draw the attention of citizens to the need to properly prepare all documents for crossing the state borders of the selected countries, especially if you are planning a trip with children. Do not forget about the rules of crossing the border of Ukraine.
We emphasize that for traveling abroad, minors of Ukraine need a passport document of the established form, and in the case of traveling with one of the parents, it is mandatory to have the notarized consent of the other.
A notarized consent of the second parent is not required if he is a foreigner or a stateless person, but this must be confirmed by an entry about the father in the child's birth certificate. In addition, without the notarized consent of the second parent, it is possible to cross the border in case of temporary departure from Ukraine for a period of up to one month in the presence of a court decision or guardianship authority, which determines the place of residence of the child with one of the parents who intends to leave with the child, as well as if there is a certificate of custody indebtedness of the second parent to pay alimony for four months, issued by the state executive service body or by a private executor.
Last year, due to improper attitude of parents to the organization of travel across the state border, almost 1,270 Ukrainian minors were refused to leave Ukraine, 1000 of them precisely because of the lack of notarized consent of the second parent.
Since the beginning of 2021, the total number of Ukrainian minors who have not been allowed abroad has already exceeded 450 people, of which 380 are due to missing consents.
Take care that the long-awaited vacation of children does not overshadow the troubles associated with the inattention of adults.
