The court chose a precautionary measure for a driver who, in a state of drug intoxication, committed a large-scale accident at the entrance to Kharkov
60 days without the right to make a pledge — this decision was made by the Kyiv District Court of Kyiv. Kharkov in relation to the 41-year-old offender. The examination found that the man was driving the vehicle under the influence of cannabinoids and opiates.
The fatal accident occurred on November 25 at about 17:30 in the area of the intersection of the ring road and the street Saltovskoe highway. The driver of the “MAN” with the semitrailer drove to the intersection at the prohibitive signal of the traffic light and provoked a large-scale accident.
As a result of the accident, three people died at the scene of the accident, including a three-year-old child. Four people were also injured. According to experts, the driver was in a state of drug intoxication.
Currently, a 41-year-old resident of the city of Zaporizhzhia has been informed of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 4 of Art. 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles in a state of intoxication) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 7 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of seven to ten years.
