Metropolitan investigators reported on suspicion of a resident of Troyeshchyna for mistreatment of animals
The owner of the property threw the cat and four kittens out of a seventh-floor window. For his actions, he faces up to eight years in prison.
A local resident received a message from a local resident to the duty part of the Desniana Police Department that an unknown person was throwing animals from the window of a high-rise building on Honore de Balzac Street. The patrol police uniforms, the investigative task force and the investigator of the territorial police department immediately went to the call.
According to the investigator of the Desnyanka Police Department Oleksandra Nedukhova, the law enforcement officers set up an apartment, the door of which was opened by a 42-year-old man, who later confessed to the crime:
“The drunk defendant decided to play with animals. During the game, an adult cat scratched his hand, because of this, the offender threw her and four kittens out of a seventh-floor window. As a result of the fall, four animals died, one kitten is being treated in a veterinary hospital.”
The Investigative Department of the Desnyansk Police Department investigates criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 299 (Cruelty to animals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime. The offender faces from five to eight years in prison.
