Metropolitan police liquidated drug lab and seized drugs and psychotropic drugs worth more than 70 million hryvnias
The capacity of the laboratory allowed the attackers to produce about 50 kilograms of psychotrope every month. In order to hide their illegal activities, five people arranged it in one of the villages of the Zhytomyr region. During the authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized more than 2.5 tons of precursors for the manufacture of Alpha PVP, as well as about five kilograms of already finished psychotrope.
The illegal activities of a group of drug dealers were documented and the location of the laboratory for the production of a psychotropic substance was revealed by the operatives of the department for the fight against drug crime in the city. Kyiv DBN NPU together with law enforcement officers of the Pechersk Police Department, under the procedural direction of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office.
Law enforcement officials found that four men and one woman, from 19 to 29 years old, were engaged in illegal transactions. Two men were directly responsible for the manufacture of the psychotropic substance “Alpha PVP”. In the future, the finished “product” was sold by other accomplices through postal items and through “bookmarks”.
Money for psychotropics was accepted into electronic wallets and later withdrawn through bank cards. For the purpose of conspiracy, the attackers rented a house in one of the villages of the Zhytomyr region, where they equipped an underground laboratory for the production of psychotropic substances. The territory was equipped with round-the-clock video surveillance cameras. The power of the drug laboratory allowed to produce about 50 kilograms of psychotrope every month.
Yesterday, July 28, law enforcement officers with the strong support of the special purpose police No. 1 fighters of the Kiev police exposed and detained the members of the group. A number of authorized searches were carried out, which took place in the territory of Kiev and Zhytomyr regions, as well as in the capital.
In total, police officers seized more than 2.5 tons of precursors, about 5 kg of Alpha PVP in crystallized state and 100 liters - in liquid, as well as packaged cannabis and mephedrone. In addition, money, mobile phones, devices for weighing and packaging prohibited substances, work clothes and respirator masks were found. The total value of seized drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors is more than UAH 70 million.
Three active defendants were detained under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators are already preparing for all members of the group a report on suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Since large volumes of chemicals were seized and, given their explosive danger, the fighters of the State Emergency Service of the Popilnyansky district were involved in the events.
