Ivan Vyhivsky - the Metropolitan Police is ready to ensure law and order during the Equality March
Kyiv policemen and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine have been transferred to an enhanced version of service and instructed on the algorithm of actions in case of detection of violations or provocations during the planned event.
On September 19, the Equality March will be held in the capital, which will take place in the central part of the city near the Taras Shevchenko Park. According to the organizers, up to ten thousand citizens will participate in the event.
According to Kyiv Police Chief Ivan Vyhivsky, on the day of the march along the appropriate route and along it, law enforcement officers will restrict access to the territory, but these measures will act solely to ensure proper order.
“The Metropolitan Police is ready to ensure proper law and order during the Equality March. Barrier turnstiles and filtration points with metal detectors and pass-through mode will be installed. We will also involve explosives technicians and dog handlers with service dogs to protect public safety, and in order to prevent provocations or conflict situations between the participants of the action and other citizens, the service of the police uniforms will strongly encourage dialogue,” he said.
The Metropolitan Police will work to ensure at the proper level of law and security of every citizen, as well as freedom of assembly and demonstration. Therefore, we appeal to residents and guests of the city with a request to be understanding and to choose traffic routes in advance, taking into account the time restrictions.
