Athletes of the National Guard received outstanding awards for the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine
On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine in the physical education and recreation complex of the National Guard of Ukraine, the solemn closing of the championship of the National Guard of Ukraine in futsal and awarding of servicemen - specialists in physical training and sports, athletes and sports veterans took place.
Recall that in the capital from September 7 to 10, representatives of 17 teams from the ATO and military units of the National Guard of Ukraine competed for the championship at the National Guard of Ukraine futsal championship.
As a result of the games, the teams of the Northern ATO, military unit 3022, military unit 3044 became the champions of the competition.
At the beginning of the event, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel-General Mykola Balan, thanked the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports - Matviy Bidny and the President of the Futsal Association of Ukraine - Serhiy Vladyka for cooperation and on the occasion of a professional holiday.
Instead, for exemplary performance of duty, high professional skill, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine awarded 15 servicemen, among them two guardsmen with the badge “For Valorous Service”.
“Today, an important holiday for us and you is the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. Our guards show a high level at all-Ukrainian and international competitions. Since 2014, 72 guards have taken part in the Olympic Games, 32 of them at the 2020 Olympics. I would like to express my gratitude to all the present commanders and specialists of physical training and sports, who make efforts in the development and victory of our warriors and teach them to go to a high goal,” said the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel General Mykola Balan.
In addition, 15 specialists of physical training and sports of NGU were awarded the rights of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the First Deputy Chairman of the Dynamo Sports Society of Ukraine, the Presidents of the National Sambo Federation of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Handball Federation.
“This year, the athletes of FST Dynamo showed excellent results, they won 11 out of 19 Ukrainian medals for the country. By this, they confirmed the high level of sports of the National Guards in the world. I congratulate you on this holiday and I wish you never to lose your ardor and “Dynamo”, — said Viktor Korzh, First Deputy Chairman of Dynamo Sports Society of Ukraine.

I want to note that it is physical culture and sports that are the foundation of all modern military formations. I wish everyone Olympic health, sports inspiration and further victories. I wish the teams of the National Guard of Ukraine to always improve and be an example for the youth. Glory to Ukraine!”, — said Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matviy Bidnyi.
It is worth noting that the servicemen of the National Guard, who have a high level of sportsmanship, constantly participate in international competitions, in which more than 700 medals of various categories have been won, of which in 2020 alone more than 150. In total, since 2014, in competitions to the all-Ukrainian level, the guards have won about 3000 sports medals of various grades.
