Investigators of Vinnytsia region announced suspicion of the director of a municipal enterprise in appropriation of almost a million budget funds
Investigators of the investigative department of the GUNP in Vinnytsia region announced the suspicion of a 34-year-old resident of Vinnytsia district, who colluded with an entrepreneur and appropriated almost a million hryvnias allocated for the purchase of auto parts.
The pre-trial investigation found that the director of the utility company colluded with the metropolitan entrepreneur and concluded with the latter about 130 fictitious contracts for the purchase of auto parts at the expense of budget funds. In fulfillment of the terms of the contracts, the company transferred almost a million hryvnias to the executor. The utility did not receive spare parts that were specified in fictitious contracts. The funds allocated for the purchase, the offenders disposed of at their own discretion.
According to experts, abusing their official position, they caused damage to the regional budget of almost a million hryvnias by their actions.
Investigators announced a suspicion of part 3, part 5 of Art., to the director of the municipal enterprise. 191 (Appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position), part 2 of Art. 209 (Legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Such a crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with the confiscation of property.
