During a rally near the Office of the President of Ukraine, several participants provoked a conflict with law enforcement officers, as a result of which seven policemen and one National Guard serviceman were injured. The actions of the violators are qualified as hooliganism.

Recall that on August 14 of this year, police and soldiers of the National Guard ensured order and public security during the action near the OPU. At the legal request of the police to show the contents of the bags to check the presence of dangerous items, the activists categorically refused the inspection. Subsequently, the most active participants gave the command to attack the borders of the National Police and the National Guard.

Within the framework of the pre-trial investigation initiated under Part 4 of Art. 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, law enforcement officers studied the recordings from video surveillance cameras and identified the two most active participants who called for and were the first to commit illegal actions. These are residents of Cherkasy region, born in 1990 and 1984.

Today, on August 28, the investigator of the Kiev police under the procedural leadership of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office informed the violators about the suspicion, a request for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention was sent to the court. They face up to seven years in prison.

Investigative actions are underway to identify and involve other participants in the incident and bring them to justice.
