Investigators of the police of Vinnytsia region sent to the court the case of a “spy” regarding the spread of criminal influence in the colony and the attack on the employee of the institution
Investigators of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region completed a pre-trial investigation on the charge of “spying” one of the correctional colonies in establishing and spreading criminal influence among convicts and attacking an employee of the institution. On September 24, the materials of the case with the indictments were sent to to court.
According to the deputy head of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Oleksandr Soldatov, during the pre-trial investigation it was established that the 31-year-old convicted of committing intentional serious property crimes, while serving a sentence, maintaining criminal traditions, gained authority among other convicts and received status, the so-called “spectator” behind the institution. Spreading his criminal influence among the condemned, he established rules and demanded their unconditional observance.
For violation of the rules, he and those close to him were sentenced to punishment of prisoners through physical and psychological violence.
In addition, the criminal authority collected and distributed funds among convicts, including those obtained by criminal means, organizing a channel for the supply of drugs and other prohibited items to the territory of the colony, provided the content of the so-called “thieving community”.
Also, the pre-trial investigation established that in February this year at night, the convict attacked a representative of the administration of the institution of execution of sentences and threatened him with murder.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 2551 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (establishment or dissemination of criminal influence) and art. 392 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (actions that disorganize the work of institutions of execution of sentences). Such actions are punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years.
