Investigators of the National Police collected evidence of another episode of waste of funds allocated for the repair of the department of the medical institution
The money was intended for the reconstruction of one of the departments of the Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The defendant signed documents that contained a deliberately inflated cost of the work performed.
In 2019, the police started criminal proceedings on the embezzlement of state funds, which were intended to carry out the reconstruction of the branches of the Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In February last year, investigators sent to the court an indictment against the officials of the medical institution and contracting enterprises for the facts of abuse of services position. The defendants carried out official forgery and squandered more than 10 million hryvnias of state funds during the reconstruction of one of the branches.
At present, the investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have established another fact of misappropriation of state funds by an official of a medical institution according to a similar scheme. The money was to be used for the reconstruction of one of the departments of the Institute of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
The evidence base of the guilt of the suspect is collected in full, the materials with the indictment are sent to the court. He faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and with confiscation of property.
