Investigators of the National Police have completed a pre-trial investigation into the fact of theft of natural gas worth more than 4 million hryvnias
The head of one of the commercial enterprises was handed over by the police on suspicion of illegal extraction of minerals of national importance - 880 thousand cubic meters of natural gas. The indictment is sent to court.
During the pre-trial investigation, the police established that in 2016 in Lviv region, the head of one of the commercial enterprises, in the absence of a permit stipulated by law and without payment of the established mandatory payments, carried out the extraction of minerals of national importance - natural gas with a volume of more than 880 thousand cubic meters. By his actions, the attacker caused damage to the state in the amount of more than 4.3 million hryvnias. In the future, illegally mined minerals were sold on the territory of Ukraine.
In December 2020, the police informed the attacker about the suspicion.
At present, the investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General have completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened on the grounds of criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Art. 240, Part 2 of Art. 209, p. 1 tbsp. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
We are talking about the fact of illegal mining of minerals of national importance, the commission of transactions with property obtained as a result of the commission of a socially dangerous illegal act, which preceded the legalization (laundering) of income made in a large amount and intentional evasion of payment of mandatory payments, included in the taxation system, introduced in the manner established by law, committed by an official of the enterprise, which led to the actual non-receipt of funds to the budget in significant amounts.
An attacker can face up to eight years in prison.
