Investigators of the National Police have completed a pre-trial investigation into the officials of the municipal enterprise, who appropriated about UAH 1.3 million of state funds
The defendants attracted a fictitious enterprise to perform subcontracting work. Therefore, in the certificate of the cost of the work performed, the attackers indicated false information regarding the volume, cost and payment of the work not actually performed.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the municipal enterprise entered into an agreement with a state-owned enterprise for the performance of works on major repairs of municipal property objects of the capital. Being in a conspiracy, the director of the utility company, three of his subordinates and the head of the institution that was supposed to perform repair work, attracted a fictitious enterprise to perform subcontracting work.
Officials included in the documents knowingly false information regarding the volume, cost and payment of actually not performed work at the expense of budget funds. The amount of damage is about 1.3 million hryvnias.
At present, the investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the National Police Service, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 4, 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) and Part 1 of Art. 366 (Forgery of service) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Violators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and with confiscation of property.
